RAMONA FIRE RECOVERY CENTER

Ramona Fire Recovery Center is a resource center for all families that suffered loss during the Witch Creek Fire. Over 460 homes were burned in the Ramona/SanYsabel area. There are three employees at the center to assist families in their recovery, Bonnie Fry, Director; Stacy Bablewski, Outreach Assistant; and Leland Jones, Outreach Assistant. We at RFRC will find answers to your questions, listen and help solve problems in order to alleviate the many frustrations fire families encounter in rebuilding their lives. We want to use the Ramona Fire Recovery Center as a hub for meetings and gatherings to support the fire impacted families.

Every Tuesday night there is a Support and Education Meeting held at the RFRC at 6:30 pm. Each week features a different presentation/presenter offering a variety of topics to help fire families. Past presentations include county and fire officials, rebuilding information, community services available, rebuilding "green", and energy efficient rebuilding options.

Long Term Recovery Center

Ramona Fire Recovery Center is one of six long term recovery centers (LTRC) in San Diego County, created by a grant from The San Diego Foundation to aid each fire-impacted community in its recovery process. The other long term recovery centers are Rebuild Escondido, RB United, Harris Fire Recovery Center, Fallbrook Fire Recovery Center, and Committee for Migrant/farm workers. The mission of these county recovery teams is to provide and coordinate emotional, physical, financial, and spiritual resources to help rebuild the homes and lives of families affected by the San Diego Wildfires of October 2007.
